Parker Lee Williams & Dave Herrero
Parker worked with Oprah Winfrey for 26 years, serving as the Harpo Music Director for over a decade. He received two Emmy nominations for his work, and was responsible for the creation and marketing of “Harpo Sounds” Music Library, which proved very successful for Harpo Productions both creatively and financially. Parker has been a pioneer and leading force in the hip-hop world since adolescence. He brought the New York hip-hop sound to the Windy City as one of the first hip-hop DJ’s in Chicago. Parker started Jazz Child Records with Grandmaster Caz in the 90’s, and over the years he’s produced many outstanding records with old-school legends like Grandmaster Caz himself, The Cold Crush Brothers, Busy Bee, Jamalski, and Parker’s own duo, Mental Giants. He’s recorded with Chuck D and rubbed elbows with hip-hop greats like P. Diddy, Common, LL Cool J, KRS-One, and Heavy D over the years.
Dave has been playing music professionally since age 18. He’s the descendant of Luis Herrero of the Dominican Serenaders, who had migrated from the Caribbean in 1928 to be one of the first Latin musicians in New York. Dave’s grandfather ‘Papi’ played the 1939 New York World Fair with his orchestra on the first-ever color television broadcast in the United States. Carrying on what he sees as a family tradition, Dave toured the world with his band and other groups countless times. He’s been blessed to play with many music legends. He and his brother, Mike “Hero” Herrero created TrackForce Productions, LLC, which contributed 1,000 compositions to the Harpo Sounds Library and other TV programs like TMZ, The Tyra Banks Show and Rob and Big. Still active in the Chicago Blues community, he can be found playing in Chicago several nights a week or overseas on tour a few times a year.
