BOSS OF THE WEEK: ANNE HARRIS

Boss of the Week is a weekly series where we showcase talented artists that contribute music to the library and ultimately make it great.

This week’s Boss is the amazingly talented Anne Harris.

Harris hails from the small town of Yellow Springs, Ohio. She has used the down to earth community as an inspiration for her songwriting. She began studying classical violin at the age of 8, which eventually lead her to attending The University of Michigan’s School of Music. After college, Harris moved to Chicago to pursue acting in theatre and commercials, but the passion for music never left her. She ultimately went back to making music, which eventually lead her to quickly building a name for herself due to her instrumental talent. In 2001, she released her eponymous debut album, which was met with high acclaim from critics due to its interesting mix of genres such as Celtic music, funk, rock and R&B, which she labels “conscious music”

We are glad to have the genre-bending Anne Harris contributing such amazing music for the library, which is why she is our second Boss of The Week.
